Asus rep at COMPUTEX confirms Google Nexus tablet “coming in June”

Written by: TonyTha1AndOnly

If you had any doubt that Google and Asus were in cahoots with one another, working on a 7-inch Nexus tablet, it’s time to lay those doubts to rest once and for all. According to our friends over at Android Authority, an Asus representative has confirmed with them that the tablet will come by the end of June.

Apparently, this little tidbit was dropped on the AA staff at COMPUTEX, so you can take it or leave it, but we have no reason to believe otherwise. There’s been a ton of buzz surrounding the tablet already, but up until now, there had never been anything mentioned by Asus.

If the rumor holds up, we’re looking at a 7-inch tablet, powered by NVIDA’s quad-core Tegra 3 chip. That’s a whole lot of power in a pint-sized frame, if you ask me.
Word has it, the tablet should fall in somewhere between $150-$250, and should be announced at Google I/O June 27th – 29th in San Francisco.
What do you think, folks? Now that it looks like we can shed that rumor tag, will you be saving your pennies to get a Nexus tablet? If that price remains intact, I will more than likely be shelling out the cash to pick one up and review for you guys. Hit us with a comment below.
